How we find Joy in Travel
I just loved capturing the reflections on the water from our trip to Hakone, Japan 2019
Though my first posts might suggest this is just a place for me to process my grief and process my diagnosis, I didn’t just start this blog to let all my vulnerable and raw emotions out into the world.
Originally I started this blog as a way of documenting all the adventures we’ve been on since my diagnosis! In a way we are living a more fulfilled, adventurous, and joyful life than we did before I was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer in June of 2017. Since then we have traveled the globe, explored new cities and national parks within the US, and have honestly gotten closer to all of my family, friends who are family, and loved ones.
Even though David and I are in this awful, unfair situation, our life now is so full and happy and joyful because we get to prioritize quality time with the people we love. We also have been using the money in our savings that would say go towards a down payment on a house or a kid’s college fund and using it to explore, learn about new cultures, and go on as many adventures as we can, while we can.
